Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Award

The Woodwork Institute 's Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Award Program honors Woodwork Institute members for their exceptional craftsmanship and/or installation of any architectural millwork project or portion thereof. Procedure
Submittal may be made by any Woodwork Institute member or employee, and the project must be either Certified or Monitored Compliant. Application must be filled out completely, signed by a representative of the recipient firm, accompanied by one digital and two printed copies of six 8" x 10" color prints of the project.

Three projects (one winner, two runners-up), will be recognized for their superior craftsmanship. The project that is granted the Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Award will receive a plaque and coverage in woodworking industry publications; the two runners-up will each receive a framed Craftsmanship Certificate of Recognition and a free half-page advertisement allowance in the Woodwork Institute's bi-annual publication, Archetype. All three projects will be highlighted in Archetype.

Award-winning entries become the property of the Woodwork Institute for unrestricted use. The Woodwork Institute assumes no responsibility for loss of or damage to materials submitted. Entries will be judged for acceptance by the Institute's local Director of Architectural Services. If accepted, recognition will be given on the Woodwork Institute website.

All accepted entries will compete for the finalist level shortly after the annual application cutoff date of May 31 each year. Entries should be sent to:

Craftsmanship Award Winners, prior to 2003
In 2003, the awards program eliminated the separate awards classifications, instead recognizing three finalists each year and choosing the top project as the award recipient. Previous awards were divided into categories based on the type of millwork that the project featured.
