Nick Nicholson became Director of Educational Services for the Woodwork Institute in 2000. In this position, he is charged with overseeing the development and promotion of woodworkers and the woodworking industry. Previously, he was Director of Architectural Services for the Institute from 1994 to 2000.

Nicholson brings more than 50 years experience in the architectural millwork industry to the Institute. Before joining the Institute, he owned his own millwork manufacturing business, Nicholson Wood Products, in Long Beach, Calif. Previous experience includes having served as estimator and sales manager for Lewis Bilt Cabinet in Los Alamitos, Calif., and estimator for McFarland Wood Products in Long Beach.

Nicholson received his associates degree in business and industrial technology from Long Beach City College. He also holds his journeyman license and his State of California contractor license.

His community involvement includes serving as the woodworking advisor for his local architectural board. Nicholson also serves as chairman of the Lakewood Jr. Chamber of Commerce and director of adult education for the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. He also is actively involved with his church.
